Lateralis Care Sheet:

 

 

Scientific Name: Blatta Lateralis (Lateralis Roach)

Distribution: Asia, Africa, U.S.

Adult Size: Adults range from 1/4 to 1’’

Sexing: Males are reddish in color and have wings, while females are black with no wings.

This species does not Bite.

Babies: Babies are around 1/8”

Reproduction: Lateralis Roaches lay little brownish color egg sake Contain up to 30 babies each. The eggs hatch out in about 28 days.

Active Period: Nocturnal, most roaches will scamper away when they see light.

Life Span: Typically this species will live from 12-24 months after reaching adulthood, the Female Roach lives long that the Male Roach  

Speed/climb: Lateralis Roaches are a very fast roach and Do Not Climb Smooth Surfaces

Housing:  Any completely smooth sided container will work. Glass aquariums and plastic totes

Work well. You can use a substrate of some sort; I personally do not use any. Egg flats And paper towel roll are great places for the Lateralis roach to hide

Food: Apples, oranges, greens, carrots, potatoes, fish flake food, dry cat or dog food

Water: Water Crystals are a great. The babies have less chance of drowning

Heat: they are a tropical Species so keep the temp. Around (88 to 94 degrees) 

             By using a under the tank heat mate or Heat tape work very well.           

              They Like High Humidity Misting the Lateralis Roaches Daily helps.
